Matilda Allen studied politics and sociology at the University of Manchester, where she wrote an undergraduate thesis entitled “Democracy and trust in progress.” After graduating, she worked at University College London on the Strategic Review of Health Inequalities in England post 2010 (The Marmot Review). She currently lives in Beirut, where she studies Arabic and has interned with the Arab Centre for the Development of the Rule of Law and Integrity.
